I need someone to teach me how to tattoo!!!

Hello, my name is khalila, and i am in need of a teacher. I have always drawn all the time to express how i feel. When I am angry, i draw, and when i am happy i draw. I also do alot of painting, and other styles of art. It is definetely a life passion for me, even if i have been doing something else to make a living, i have always drawn and painted in my spare time.
About a month ago I decided to try tattooing, which is something that i have wanted to do for years, and since then i have done a couple of tattoos on myself, and on my boyfriend ( who is stoked! ), and have been researching as much info as i can on the safety issues and all other aspects of the bussiness. I am NOT trying to jump into this uneducated, and have been learning alot, but i really need someone to teach me!!!! I am willing to do what it takes, because this is all i have ever wanted to do, and i am aware of how hard it can be.
Well i thought i would put it out there, and i have some of my art in my profile, if anyone wants to take a look... and thankyou!!!!
Any response is much appreciated.

Hi:)

I communcated my tattoo with Tashi through E-mail correspondence and it worked great. Once translated, he will most likely e-mail you a JPG picture of different styles, to see which you prefer. Once you've chosen he'll paint the artwork on quality paper and have it air mailed to you. The print will most likely be larger than your actual tattoo. Its up to your tattoo artist to size it and ink it:)

Most well recommended tattoo artists will do fine......but I chose to have a personal friend do my work as it seemed to mean a bit more personal:)

Take care and don't be afraid to e-mail Tashi with questions. He's very cool;)
Cheers!

Hey RD
You are right, Tashi's work really is beuatiful and breathtaking. I have actually been searching for an artist with that kind of mastery and spirituality attached to their undersanding of sanskrit. I was given a mantre by a vedic astrologer and wanted to have it inked on my wrist in sanskrit. It looks like Tashi lives in the UK however - and I live in California. Do you by any chance know of anyone out here? Or if Tashi comes to the states at all?
I would greatly appreciate any guidance you can offer.
Be well,

Tashi Mannox - Tibetan Caligraphist/Artist

Hi everyone:)

I spent four years looking for my tattoo; a Buddhist precept properly translated and written in Tibetan (not an easy task). My quest finally ended after discovering the work of Tashi Mannox. Tashi is an Englishman and former Buddhist monk. For 17 years he apprenticed under the direction of a master of Tibetan art, studying temple decoration and the sacred art of Thanka painting. He is familiar with all four styles of Tibetan caligraphy as well as the two main styles of Sanskrit. His work is truly Amazing!

If you are looking for a Tibetan tattoo, visit his website (specifically geared towards tattoo design).
www.inkessential.com

If you are looking for Tibean art, visit his personal website.
www.tashimannox.co.uk

I can't speak enough about this guy. He's incredibly fast, and completely reliable..not to mention beautifully talented:)

I hope this helps you find the design you've been looking for!
Cheers!

I haven't suffered profressional discrimination for my tattoos however I do have to cover them at work. It's a bit of a pain in the butt to always have to have sleeves for work, but I understand. I see the way people stare without abandon and sneer at times... it doesn't bother me but I notice. Here in NYC there are people who can read the prayers but you can always tell them.
Once I was crossing the street here and a woman had the same prayer on her arm as I. We talked a moment and parted ways only to meet again some weeks later in another part of town as she was exiting a cab I hailed.

If you are a business professional who has tattoos and has to hide them in business, or you have been discriminated against in the workplace because of your body art, we would like to talk to you. My online publication would like to do a feature article about individuals who have been discriminated against because they have a tattoo, piercing, etc.

Please contact Mike by messaging this profile if you are interested in being part of this article and speaking your mind about how your experience affected your life.
